THE IVORY COAST PRESENTED TO THE FRENCH ALLIANCE

It is to one of those events that were invited on Saturday March 21, 2009 representatives and local organizations from countries like the Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Guadeloupe, Morocco, and Mali to present their countries to the French nationals and almost as many francophones from across the world.

The event started at 2pm with Mohamed, a French national, originally from Morocco who presented the beautiful cultural sites that are Fes, Marrakech and the well renowned Moroccan cuisine.

The Cameroon delegation that followed performed a chorographical dance and took a series of question about their country from the audience.

After Cameroon came IVOIRE UNION’s turn to talk about their country. IVORE UNION was represented by Amadou Toure and the many Ivorians present that day. To talk about their country, the Ivory Coast…and the huge honor fell on Amadou Toure, IVOIRE UNION’s President.

During the 25mns assigned to the Ivory Coast, Amadou started with the geographical location the Ivory Coast, then its people and finally its economy.

During Amadou’s presentation, a strong emphasis was made on the spirit of the Ivorians, their resilience through thick and thin, and the enormous economic and development progress that were accomplished through the years…those aspects of progress can be seen according to Amadou to the level of instruction attained by many Ivorians, the easy access to many locations throughout the country with the development of roads and railroad and the economic stability that the country experienced and is experiencing even in the difficult times due to the war that started in September 2002.

The prospect for the future is great, insisted Amadou as the country is heading toward a general election that will facilitate the accomplishment of many projects that are currently on the shelves, like the construction of the biggest refinery in Africa that will be located in Abidjan and a bridge between Marcory and Riviera. It is with that note of hope toward the future that the Ivorian delegation moved on to offer the crowd a spectacle of dance from the Ivory Coast.

Yolande Kuite performed a piece from the bete region at the great delight of the entire hall. She moved with a gracious harmony to the bites of the music, alternating the up and down of the traditional dancer from Gagnoa…it was the perfect highlight to conclude the Ivorian presentation.

The conclusion was then given by Amadou, who thanked the entire community for the opportunity given to IVOIRE UNION to present our country, its people, its economy and most importantly the hopes that this beautiful country of theirs has for the future.

The Ivory Coast presentation was followed by Mali…

It was a wonderful event that all the people present enjoyed as many guests bought some of the items on display at the Ivory Coast stand and asked some follow-up questions to increase their knowledge of the prospects for the future of the Ivory Coast and many others questions related to the country.
